Hi all
Sadly I am off; leaving delightful Dawlish. I have been offered a senior lecturing position out of the area, starting next month. I thought I was here to stay, and was looking forward to fully retiring here. But, I'm off on a new culinary adventure
Many, many thanks for all your support, kindness & friendship over the last year.
But, for the foodies out there, you can catch up with me on my new food blog at
Thank you for your contributions, Chef, which were really useful and interesting. If you're off to sunnier climes, spare a thought for us left behind in drab, damp England.
Many thanks all.
I will miss Dawlish. Despite the nay sayers, it is still a jewel of a place ..... especially when you see the crime rate, standard of living etc elsewhere. One of the highlights has been the well brought up youngsters here. Thumbs up to all those "old fashioned valued" parents out there!
Self websites seem to be a thing of old, and costly. So in place of I have started a new weekly food blog, hopefully you will enjoy catching up with that every weekend (new posts at least every Friday night).
Currently I am writing a trip down memory lane. Starting with my earliest food memories up to when I started cooking professionally. Then I plan on revisiting great dishes of yesteryear, posting both the original recipes with more up to date versions e.g. queen of puddings, scouse, dishes that used to be on all menus at one time but seem to no longer around
I'm still here for a month though, if anyone needs a chef in a hurry?!?

Yes, many thanks Chef for your contributions to this site, and all the best for the future. I hope you will leave your section on here and visit the site once and a while. Feel free to add links to your new blog if you like.
Also feel free to add a few photos of your new location.
Good Luck and Best Wishes,
webmaster.
Bye then chef thanks for your posts and positive comments re Dawlish, its people, and our way of life.
All the best on your new adventure.
Dammit! And I never got the chance to utilise your skills for our residents (and perhaps have a 'small' taste myself!lol).
Best of Luck Chef and perhaps you will return at some later date.
