General Discussion

the youth of today

There seems little appreciation for those who stood up for England 65 years ago. Would people in 2008 .. or would people just let anyone walk in? 'Grange Hill' on TV 1984, with their unruly teenagers in school, set a standard to follow. The teenagers of then are todays parents .. say no more! 'Eastenders' on TV today has much to answer for.

What you say is so true. I wish people would not be so ready to 'knock people down' in anything, few will pick you up. My worry for Dawlish Blue is not the location, as people pass it for the pubs etc and is clearly seen from Queen Street..but the power of the sun on the pictures, they really need a pull out to shade them.

Yes Sussex prices are far higher than Devon, yet people do complain here of Devon house prices. I have visited Sussex and your area a number of times. Thnak you and hope all goes well for you.

Lovely pretty place and close to Exeter, will let you make up your mind on the poeple from the forum! I am selling and want to move to West Sussex!

As said before, the new store will be for a catchment area of about 8 miles. Dawlish people will still go to Exeter and Newton shop whatever, 'the grass greener on the other side', they certainly will not like it for some reason, though not built yet lol... this follows all shopping patterns everywhere.

I assume Sainsburys Dawlish will stock DVDs its time to get out of small retail.

Strange people Devon people, think they have caught the Cornish bug. Oh to live somewhere where people dont pick at each other and be away from envy.

In the news today. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4435339.stm Strange nobody likes to spend in a small shop, yet seems perfectly acceptable for Tesco to have 2 billion profit. Go shop at Tesco you may halp make it 3 Billion next year 'Every little helps' lol.

Asda... no thrills, no points card...juzt good prices, but the veg will cost you more in any supermarket than at any amall veg shop, people don't know what they are paying in a supermarket, just pick up, take to the till, look at receipt, in the name of convenience. Best way is to buy online really as you dont get tempted in buying extra and if you count your shopping time you cam keep working!
