A very happy Christmas to all. Please spend a moment to think about all our Troops in Afghanistan and their family's. Also all the many Homeless people in these very cold days and nights.
Where are the Christmas trees this year? The Christmas street market on Sunday was a great boost for Dawlish but even that lacked the usual mulled wine and mince pies. Dawlish is looking very dull and unkempt which is a shame for those few who are trying really hard.
Walked through the Manor last Sunday week and commented on how dangerous the bridge was. I didn't realise it had been repaired. An accident waiting to happen. Lets hope the council have enough money in their kitty for a compensation pay out in the event of it happening!!!!!!!!
A lovely afternoon for a walk, I set off up towards the Exeter road when approaching the turning to Sandy Lane i was appalled by the rubbish and falling leaves on the pavements when speaking to a resident i was told the council never sweep or clear the area just cut the grass and blow it down the drains. Moving on to the Rockstone area I thought i would sit on a seat overlooking the sea before ...
It doesn't seem as if the Co-op is going to expand into the empty Woolworth's store as there is a store to let in the window. Maybe that bird was right when a few weeks ago it told me that the Co-op had spent so much money on buying up Somerfields stores there wasn't enough in the kitty to expand the Dawlish store!!!
Who rattled Sid's cage!!! I think a lot of locals do abuse the no dogs on parts of the beach from April to September. I myself have a dog and abide by the rules but have seen locals abuse the system but have not approached the owners because!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think L&C were moaning (at least not as much as you!) just putting their point across. They didn't say they were frequent customers of ...
PJD has the most positive answer to what Dawlish needs. Argos a good idea also maybe an Iceland or any major store who's prices would be the same in Dawlish as elsewhere so locals would be encouraged to shop locally.
We had a bad experience with BT. We had a problem with our phone line and BT insisted it was inside and offered an engineer to call at the cost of a call out charge of £145 and £45 for any work involved. We got someone independent to come and check, he checked our inside line and said there was no problem,he then phoned BT and told them the problem was the outside line. They then sent one of their ...
An elderly man from Meridian, Mississippi could see people in his shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked " is someone in your house" He said no but people are stealing from my garden shed. The police dispatcher said " All patrols are busy, you should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available " Okay" said the man and hung up, counted to 30 and phoned again. " ...
I know there was trouble around that area on carnival night as we were standing further down and one of the Marshall's was relaying information to us, mainly why the carnival was so late. He then said the police had to deal with a group of under aged drinkers around that area, then a first aider was required to treat someone who had been injured. There were so many youngsters carrying alcohol ...
