I am getting pissed off with that place all the noise some times till 2 am language and smashing of windows and cars getting dented. I vote for it to be shut down. I phoned the police and all they said was Do they have any weapons sir... WHAT? get a grip woman shall i get their names and addresses too for gods sake... And why doesn't any of the people who live on the same street complain... well they do but to them selves. A country of moaners and no one complains... well I will be tomorrow to the useless council and non existan police force that we are paying for but only exists on paper... bloody idiots who can't hold their drink... should be sent to Afghanistan and see what happens then. With a bit of luck none will return... waste of skin and breathing a good persons air

Couple of weeks ago I saw an Ambulance outside at 10pm, yobs stood around watching and stil drinking of course fag in other hand. Do these kids have parents that care? seems not. These are the next generation oh heck. I have always said you can judge a town by it's pubs, there is nowhere nice to go in Dawlish. I vote yes too!

I know there was trouble around that area on carnival night as we were standing further down and one of the Marshall's was relaying information to us, mainly why the carnival was so late. He then said the police had to deal with a group of under aged drinkers around that area, then a first aider was required to treat someone who had been injured. There were so many youngsters carrying alcohol around the town. There didn't seem to be enough police to cope with things.

todays herald, we will be able to cope with policing the muse concerts said sargent russell dawe, we coped with the 80,000 crowd in dawlish for air show day with no arrests or problems, i fear for the residents of teignmouth next week if there was that sort of problem carnival night

the thing is that the police ant bother or some of them we was down outside ledbrookes carnival night and under age kids drinking and i know for a fact they were cause they the same age as my lad its was kicking off big time a police woman was walking up the road i asked her if she would like to hurry up and her response was why what the point it only kids now what does that say my partner had to help a nanny and her grand kids around the situation cause she was scared.im not saying all kids are like this because the majority are well behaved,as for the parents knowing we all done it told our oarents we are one place and stayed another, but i agree some parents it out of sight out of mind, and the pubs have the right to stop serving them most will but some dont care,on carnival night do we really need a beer tent on the lawn it only adds to it

i hear there was similar trouble friday night at the south devon, this open all hours policy should be reversed back to the more civilised hours ie close at 14.30 re-open at 17.00-18.00 close at 23.00 hrs maybe this would curb this behaviour. certain members of society will not go home until the pubs shut irrespective of their condition

Agree, law should go back to last orders at 11pm, 24/7 shops with beer has cauused problems of all sorts nationwide. I notice nobody has had little to say 'for or against' the pub in question... so I assume its acceptable for Dawlish.

i would only comment for or against if i frequented the establishment. because of reputations certain pubs are off my radar

My partner and I are totally sick and fed up with the noise that comes from the Ferret too. Just a couple of weeks ago we phoned the pub up at 1.15am for them to turn the volume down. After many attempts to get an answer (obviously the music was too loud to hear the phone) the chap that eventually answered agreed to and within 5 minutes it was off!

I rather like the Ferret & Radiator. It's down to earth, friendly, fun and many people I know like the pub very much as well. It is a shame that local residents are disturbed, but I guess it's just at the weekend and you would expect noise living in any town centre at the weekend. Great that they turned it off anyway.

You comment PJD "todays herald, we will be able to cope with policing the muse concerts said sargent russell dawe, we coped with the 80,000 crowd in dawlish for air show day with no arrests or problems, i fear for the residents of teignmouth next week if there was that sort of problem carnival night" I say Bugger them why worry about their town, worry about ours. The only time yopu see police in Dawlish is when there is free beer on the green... waste of space and what grieves me is that we are still paying for a non existant service..

this was said tongue in cheek in view of what was said by previous posters, i agree that our police force is invisible in this town, unless you count the very ineffective pcso with the glasses

WELL MAYBE YOU DO QUITE LIKE THE HOLE BUT THEN I SUPPOSE YOU GO HOME AT EIGHT O CLOCK BEFORE THE RABBLE GET GOING. MUSIC GOING TILL SOME TIMES GONE 3 AM. AND NO I DON'T EXPECT NOISE AT BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 3 AM IN THE FRIGGING MORNING.. EVERY WEEK END. SOME OF US STILL GO TO WORK FOR A LIVING AND DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH TIME ON OR HANDS TO FREQUENT SUCH DOSS HOUSES. AND SOME OF US HAVE TO GET UP ON A SUNDAY MORNING, ALSO TO GO TO WORK... OK FOR YOU, YOU DON'T LIVE THERE.... YOU WOULD BLOW A DIFFERENT TUNE IF YOU DID. IT IS NOW 1 25 AM 13TH SEPTEMBER AND THEY ARE STILL OUT THERE SHOUTING AND SWEARING... WHAT AM I DOING AT 1.25 AM... LISTENING TO SOME DOZY COW SCREAMING GET OFF ME AT THE TOP OF HER VOICE... I WOULD LIKE TO THINK IT WAS HER DAD DRAGGING THE PISSED UP UNDER AGED SILLY BITCH HOME WHERE SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT NINE O CLOCK. THEY WOULD HAVE ENOUGH TO SAY IF THEY WERE RAPED OR GETTING THE SHIT KICKED OUT OF THEM... THEY WOULD WONDER WHAT THEY DID TO DESERVE IT... THEIR MENTALLITY TELLS THEM " WHAT AM I DOING WRONG"? THE LAW DOESN'T CARE AND NOR DO THE COUNCIL... SOONER IT BURNS DOWN THE BETTER...

i ask again have they got a late night licence, because you can complain to thelicencing dept at teignbridge council, as the police have nothing to do with this now. this is anti social behaviour issue and they can get their licence revoked

You think that the Ferret was loud but what the hell was going on at the Swan on Saturday night? A deafening disco in their GARDEN in a residential area? Words fail me. Who knows where complaints should be directed? Licencing as per previous post? And who else wants to join the complaints queue?

The trouble is in 2009..nobody think of others. Go on a train or bus you get mobile phones ringing and loud voices, 'thump thump' music from cars, the smell of BBQs slightest sign of summer. Take a look at the teenagers outside Ferret and Radiator, before you see the next generation that will bring children into this world. 24/7 everything. It can't get better unless someone dares or cares to set a standard.
