Eyes of Dawlish

Thanks Andy Mac. Can understand the irony bit, yes I am very sarcastic and I do consider myself to have a sense of humour. Hypocrit dont agree, I stand for nothing but whats right I dont use Facebook and certainly do not insult or verbaly abuse people unless their stood in front of me, big companies and useless institutions maybe, but after all this is meant to be a country of free speech where ...

By the way Lynne Tesco's will open on Lady's mile because the pressidence has now been set by Sainsbur'y's. However I personally feel that Sainsbury's may decide to rent the store at Shutterton to another retailer rather than open it themselves. Bring on ASDA next and make them provide a recylcling centre.

Maybe 250 needed for holiday makers, or more likely when they have built another 3 or 4 hundred houses all over the Warren and Gatehouse. Millwoods, Cavana, Baratts and Bovis must think we are stupid but ill tell you one thing it aint gonna happen on my watch weather councilor Tullis and other Conservativies think its a good idea or not. Sainsbury's and Tescos is one thing but a giant housing ...

Agree with wondering Facebook should be closed down legally and for good its nothing more than a protected avenue for shit stirring, personal abuse and any other form of slander the sad people who use it care to abuse.

Bet they use their DAWLISH shop to sell cheap booze. Just what the local wineos need, not far to walk to the happy huts, At least its another shop occupied in Town unlike many others

Lynne - Dont panic we can all use Sainsbury's new car park to dump our rubish, after all they are commited to providing the town with what we all need are'nt they ??????? In any case they must be listening to someone who has never owned a business in Dawlish cause they certainly won't need 250+ parking spaces for anything else. Will make a nice race track though - Thanks

Have just checked planning applications back to Jan 2010. None refer to Woolworths so assume nobody soon is likely to be opening the store. Just another eye-sore for the forthcoming holiday makers to endure. The council need to find out who owns the building and make them clean and repair the frontage. If it is a listed building as sugested earlier in this thread, then it should not be to ...

Lynne - Dont know about you but I get the feeling that nobody has a clue as to what to do with the town. Plenty of snipping at a few of the remaining businesses and the usual requests for playparks and free activities, but nothing constructive for us to work with so far. I have my own opinions which are based around certain sites and buildings which are good for the town its residents and ...

Sounds very similar to the Devon Camera Partnership fiasco we suffered a couple of years ago. Remember camera vans parked on peoples private drive ways, grass verges, bus layby's and on yellow lines. Trying to enforce illeagal 30mph limits. As above they still havent complied with the highway regulations regarding street lighting, road marking and signs. That one cost us about half a million ...

Re above - Can fill in with some definate facts some from Sainsbury's plans and some from over 10 years of customer facing business in Dawlish. Bearing in mind that most holiday accomodation in the area is self catering I can honestly say the most asked question of me is where is the nearest supermarket? I suspect this is one of the main reasons the supermarket companies want a store locally. ...
