AN angry son who pushed his wheelchair-bound father under a bus after three days of family squabbles has been sent to a Dawlish mental health hospital.

A driver who was pulled over for driving with a loud exhaust ended up in custody after providing a positive roadside drugs test. Police had originally stopped the car after it was driving through Dawlish town centre due to the racket it was making.

The community hospital on Mill Lane, the first to be built by the NHS in 1954,  is due to close, with services moving to Dawlish Hospital and a new £8 million health centre in Teignmouth town centre.
