Besides, dispensing with HB isn't the only, nor the best, means of addressing the (very minimal) extent to which HB levels can influence pervailing rental rates.

"Parking in town is very limited, so parking along High street is perfectly acceptable." In fairness, there is a car park by the taxi rank, and another just around the corner, both free between 6 p.m. until 9 a.m., so I wouldn't say parking on double yellows is perfectly acceptable.

@wondering i don't think it will work, sadly. i've actually already approached the appropriate authorities on this matter, stressing the fact that a lot of illegally parked vehicles are obstructing traffic flow, often forcing traffic on to the wrong side of the road while approaching or going around corners, and often within a few minutes walk of one of two inexpensive car park. they made noises ...

I've only recently moved here too, and I think it's really nice for the most part. The town is looking a little shabby, especially down by the railway station and sea front but, as people have commented on the regeneration thread, most of it's nothing that a bit of paint and a clean up wouldn't fix.
