There was one found at Smugglers Cove the other week..........it was reported on the Express and Echo website.....
all of us want our town to improve, but all this business with the supermarkets just proves that we have councillors who are in the pockets of huge corporate companies....while pretending to have the interests of Dawlish at heart. Some of these councillors are telling big porky-pies and laughing at us all.
I walked past there on Sunday at about 4pm there were lights on inside also blue decorative lights outside. I don't agree about it being an eyesore, maybe the bits of wood you can see through the window are the result of someone working on the place. If it had blinds or curtains no-one would even think to criticize as it's tidy on the outside.
When did you last see the old coastguard? It is not an eyesore, there is someone living there and christmas lights outside. Ithink it had planning to convert it into living accommodation.
I definatley think that Dawlish could do with some more restaurants/wine bars. They are plenty of greasy spoon establishments that could be renovated to our needs. Why they changed HSBC into a bookies is beyond me that would have been a lovelylittle wine bar.
You're not doing yourself any favours by calling names and painting people with the same brush...
doesn't it just
Admittedly some people are real pigs, the way they leave their 'crap' behind is disgraceful but dog poo is another thing altogether. There is no smell like that and once you've stood in it its hard to scrape that shit off your shoe. Someone I know, her daughter was hospitalised recently because of a viral infection from dog poo - they don't have a dog!
I use to go there regullary , but the past 2 sat there has been big fights and people bottleing each other i think its ashame as it's geting a bad name. If the other pubs were to open later there wouldn't be this problem as people wouldn't worry about going up there just because it has a late licence(sp).
I've often thought about opening a bistro style place that sells simple tasty fresh food (and service with a :) - but there just doesn't seem to be a demand for it. Long live the deep fat fryer!
