Dawlish violence! Gang fights Turf land! need your views!!
What is peoples feelings on the violence and gang fights happening in and around Dawlish and the warren!
Let me tell you what i know! There are gangs of Torquay lads coming over to dawlish calling themselves the TQ Crew they had been telling the younger dawlish lads that their over here to fight the DBS (Dawlish Black Swans) they told them that they'll be down the warren most fridays waiting and picking off individual lads to assault! 14 of the DBS where informed of this and interveined went down to the warren and took 8 of them on doing alot of damage to them and themselves (hands and heads) this was all a fortnight ago and its getting worse! This is not the first time this has happened all of last summer fight were kicking off on the lawn not all the DBS but a few! The DBS are now a reconised Firm and stand by and respect the SLY crew (exeter footy firm) Anyone crossing the DBS are to do so carefully! As teignmouth boys found out! Back in march, 23 DBS went into teignmouth for a casual drink in F & R's little did they know how many there was of the DBS a teignmouth lad glassed a rival of the DBS and started a free for all fightin which the pub got closed early and a huge police attendance! With all of the DBS remaining unscaythed and free! There are now more than 40 of the DBS and soon will be a Website up and going it'll be a off shute of the SLY website! Lets see what your veiws are on this! But just remember we do not condone in violence we do not go looking for fights! We simply Protect our town and friends and will not let anyone Poison us!!!

where do i start a group of young lads go over to teignmouth for a quiet drink did you not think hey this might start trouble?I am a 27 year old female on a friday or saturday night going into town when there are some gangs is very intimidating and i do martial arts you automatically think is there going to be trouble?If there are local people walking around does this mean that the DBS are not going to start on them because they are local.Can we take our kids out at night in town without fear of being caught up in fights ive been there done that have grown up in an extremely rough area and want better for my kids thats why i live in dawlish.Gang fights have being going on for years and always will.By all means protect yourself and those around you but also respect local people who don't want to get caught up in it.Be safe,weapons are for muppets and they always end up killing someone.ps what are the ages?and is it male members only? he he.And a different name would be better.

I would think that your DBS are 'tooled up' though with weapons to throw, possibly dog turds. (i..e limitless ammo)

Thanks for your posts! We got the name Dawlish Black Swans from the Papers (gazette)(Express n Echo)! think they misheard someone or seen a TAG somewhere. When we go to football games and out of town the other crews called us the the Black Swans but thats not our original name. No we are not fizzy pop drinkers with our playstations lol! We are a respected group of people in the town with Female members also! We called ourselves the DDS to start with
(Dawlish Death Squad) but due to leaflet distrubution at plymouth argyles ground police seem to hear the name and relate us to the slys and hooliganism! We still are the DDS but the paper called us the DBS! The long term DDS DBS members have distinctive tattoos of a Swan figure looks like a backward S with a scroll under! This post is not here to start Fudes or gang fights! Simply letting you all know we exist. You should not feel threatened by us or envy us we simply don't like outsiders coming to our town beating our younguns up and making people feel scared. As i say we are all respectful adults with Good jobs and homes for all the people thinking that we're a bunch of drug taking wronguns!!! Keep posting people the website is coming end of november! You then can post on there and check out a few phone vids once their edited! lol

i went on holiday in dawlish last year and fell in love with so much so that have decided to visit again for two weeks next month. However after reading these messages im a little apprehensive. How are people supposed to enjoy a nice relaxing holiday when they are carrying the fear of being cought up in a big fight?

i hope so, it would be a shame to see such a nice place go to crap like most places lately. I love going to nightclubs but i have also been warned by a colleague to avoid torquay atfer dark as it is a dangerious place to be, is this true?
I think anywhere can be dangerous after dark at the moment, but that's down to the Society that we live in and that the Government don't do anything to curb the vicious and aggresive behaviour that's carried out by a minority of people. I don't think we can blame the Webmaster for this, do you TDC?

As i keep saying we do not pick on people or start pointless fights in pubs and out n about! I think you'll find there are less fights in dawlish now! regarding torquay yes i thin k it is a dangerous place to go if you are out inna group but as a couple think you'll be fine! and freaky said there are dangerous places everywhere and we can't stop this! Have you ever tryed clubbing in exeter is a up and coming place and its full of more mature people and i find there are less fights and trouble! I hope you aren't put off by the comments on this forum and have a nice visit to dawlish!

This post is a load of balls! Try living on a rough council estate in Liverpool or Manchester or Newcastle - THEN you worry to go out at night. There are regular muggings, gangs of lads in hoodies who literally run the estates and residents are PETRIFIED to go near them, stabbings, shootings, girls getting raped and forced into prostitution, brothels on most corners, drug gangs fighting over thier patches, cars being stolen & burnt out, houses being burgled on a daily basis, houses boarded up because thay are such a bad state, nearly all the phone boxes are destroyed, bins set on fire, street lamps smashed - the list could go on for much longer!
Dawlish is no comparison - these so called gangs - The Dawlish Gay Squad aka The Homo Swans are having a laugh! They would not last two seconds up north. They are living in a dream world! These little pathetic boys, who stand around the corner from off licences asking people to buy alcohol for them, are no threat at all to anyone - AT ALL!

well ive lived in dawlish all me life and these gangs..well ive never seen any gang fights just loads kids fookin up the town and hanging around the lawn,as for DBS lol change the name plz as it sounds like a play grp my son would attend.
anyway im starting up a gang of my own called for the defence of the town against terrorist and outsider attacks,on fridays will be small arms and close quarter combat training in my bathroom.
also on the 1st of each month we will have a meet on the lawn near bowling green to watch the mens bowling and organize an away trip lol

When this stream first started I was a little concerned about letting my daughter out with her friends as I feared she would get caught up in gang violence.
As I read on I came to realise that the only threat was of splitting sides whilst laughing - presumably the young lad who was heard shouting outside the Ferret one night "If I didn't have to go home I'd smash your head in" (obviously mummy would have been worried) is a member of DBS.
But now I'm terrified! Not for the safety of my child but for my elderly relative who lives in Daw Vale!! No-one told us about this, why not? Where is the Dawlish Gazette? I grew up in Dawlish, and I wasn't exactly a perfect kid, but we never went round to Teignmouth or wherever to kick the crap out of everyone.
I left Dawlish 20 years ago to join the Army and now Im a Bomb Tech on the Toronto SWAT Team.
If you think its fun being a member of a gang then your well wrong. Your all obviously living in a dream world.
I get to deal with real gang members (Bloods/Crips) on an almost daily basis, and we're normally dealing with dead members, cos there always killing each other. Believe me theres no glory in it.
Grow up and you might just find people will start respecting you for who you are and maybe the rest of the residents of Dawlish can start enjoying going out without having to worry about you lot terrorising the place.
Nick as a fellow member of the tst (toronto swat team) i also deal with gang violence and the blood/crips i have also been to el salvador with the ms-13 and i have to say dawlish is a very violent town
I am extremely worried by all these mails. As is well known, all young men have violent out bursts because of excess testosterone in their systems - aged 14 to 25 the poor souls are simply awash with it. In the past they used to put them in the army, and all that marching up and down, ( and sometimes shooting people) got it out of their systems. Recently the preferred alternative has been sex. If you get enough sex, it drais off your testosterone and your major impulse is to sleep, not fight. I would say from reading these messages that young men in Dawlish ( and Teignmouth) are not getting enough. I'm sure they often use the "do it yourself" method, but I do think a one to one relationship works better ... or even one to three, if you can get it. Will somebody from this loop please take themselves in hand ( not literally) and re-organise DBS to Dawlish Boys for Sex. Sorry about that, all you parents of teenage girls, but anythings better than them fighting! ( PS I trust my spelling is up to par for the sarky sod who seems to correct every one's mails?)

@Key Green and mcjrpc. dont worry, look at date on posts these are from 6-7 years ago. i quite often go up to dawlish warren railway station on friday night/ saturday morning and i`ve had no problems.

Clive, it was 7 years ago and I doubt anyone bothered to read all their big talk. Dawlish is hardly in the grip of gangland warfare, unless you think the Snide Six are a force to be reckoned with.
The owners of the Landsdowne are aware of this thread, so I would expect the police to be aware of it too.
Can't imagine many people will be looking to frequent the landsdowne knowing they may be sat next to a DBS, TDC, ABC or whatever their called
