it is a very interesting series and Dawlish has been mentioned a few times.  The episode featuring the air show was excellent and really showed Dawlish at its best.  Lucky they filmed it on a year when the sun was actually shining for the air show rather than the grey heavy skies we have had the past few years.

I have absolutely no problem AT ALL with people who genuinely need help getting whatever assistance they can both from the Govt/Council and from their fellow townspeople.  There was a time a while back when a person in my own family had a blue badge and it was a blessing to be able to use disabled spaces when they were with us, otherwise trips out would have been a nightmare.  Don't presume you ...

seems that someone just wants to "name and shame" a neighbour for bad behaviour, without them actually being brave enough to come out and name names or even the road this happened on.  Timandra you say people like this should be named and shamed or is this just a ploy to get support for a designated disabled space?

taylorjack913 - you seem to have got very hot under the collar about this without actually thinking through the responses people have given you.  You say you contacted Teignbridge DC who said they couldn't do anything.  And the reason they can't do anything is because it isn't their sea wall!  As has already been said, the sea wall is the responsibilty of Network Rail.  They regularly check the ...

yes but in part to pay the interest on all the borrowing that went on under the last Labour Govt and to tidy up the mess left So roberta you aren't happy that govt borrowing has increased and yet you are outraged at the cuts - you can't have it both ways It was proved beyond doubt in the 1970s that just increasing the tax burden on the higher earners doesn't actually work And ...

I agree with you roberta that more social housing does need to be built, I also agree that not all social housing is small, or pokey, or crumbly or just plain nasty - but some of it is.  Also, whilst you are very proud of your house and treat it as your own, not everyone does.  It was a generalisation on Paul's part that clearly wasn't thought through properly. I have to disagree with you ...

@Brazilnut - you negate any arguement you might have against tory policies by your childish attack on their looks.  is that really the playground level of abuse that you think would ever help this country?  shame on you And I can remember (even if you choose to have selective memory loss on the subject) just how many times Tony Blair and the Labour Govt from 1997 onwards blamed the Tories ...

Watched it last night.  It has been a fascinating series and has featured the sea wall section a few times, but last night was a great showcase for Dawlish.  Beautiful blue skies, lovely beaches and a great airshow

listening to the different party conferences it would seem that no matter who you vote for they all think it is better to build over huge swathes of countryside and on various other discussion threads on here the same people who are against Dawlish expanding with new housing, say how awful it is that there aren't enough small properties for people.

I shop local where I can and where the produce is of a good quality, but I still use the supermarkets for most things simply because I work full time and need the convenience and I have 2 teenagers who consume food almost as fast as I can buy it
