Barton Surgery
12 Apr 2016

Called into surgery mid-morning today to make appointment to see nurse for a routine matter. Had to wait 1 week for appointment. That's ok as it's non-urgent. What struck me was how few doctors were on duty; none of the 'established' ones like Drs. Pajovic, Alborough & Clements. Some names I didn't recognise. When are they starting on the new extension? What's going to happen when hundreds of new ...

Mr. Stone must be getting desperate. The same argument against this new planning application applies: there is not a good enough access to the site. Anything which brings more traffic in the Badlake Hill/Meadow Rise/Longlands area is not desirable. The hill and its neighbourhood have been a nightmare lately, especially with increasing number of delivery vans now that more people seem to be ...

The thing that did the most damage to the Carnival was her ill-considered & illiterate rant in the programme which left most of us that read it, including visitors, totally gob-smacked.

In my experience, there are already quite a few cyclists who ignore existing legislation (cycling the wrong way down a one-way street, for example) & so I don't think they will take notice of new laws that are passed as no-one will implement them anyway. I still think the whole project is misconceived & will add another bottleneck to what are already multiple bottlenecks on the A379.

Is this man for real? Does he not realise the amount of traffic accessing Dawlish town centre, especially at peak periods in the holiday season? How can it be anything other than a backward step to narrow the road at that point, putting all road users in jeopardy whatever vehicles they are using.

The problem with avoiding Exeter Road is that all the side roads are narrow and/or steep. I tried to get back via Stockton Hill but everyone else seemed to have the same idea and it is not a good surface for grip when wet and muddy.

The laws are in place but nobody enforces them any longer.

To be honest, we see worse examples of driving than this practically every day on Badlake Hill. Usually when someone cuts the corner like this it is because there are cars parked on the opposite corner which stick out into the road. This is not to excuse the driver in this instance, just that in the great scheme of things, it might be classed as something of a minor misdemeanour.

Well, Lynne, at least you were spared the sight that greeted me early one morning some years ago when I heard a noise outside the kitchen window:  Mr. Brock was outside making a feast of a poor old hedgehog and soon all that was left was a prickly skin. Just glad that the children weren't around to witness it. Having said that, it was only nature taking its course and there aren't so many ...

I feel like I'm in a parallel website.
