That's a shame, I was wondering how many sets of road works and traffic lights they could squeeze into Dawlish. Might have set a world record.
Shall be shopping for groceries online and baking my own bread!!
There's no chance of nipping to Sainsburys now, each trip takes half an hour just to get there and back, another example of the fine joined-up-thinking of our local authorities etc.

Of course that's the case Leatash but they do seem to be ramping up the roadworks around that area. For anyone who lives there and has to go out at the same time as the schools kick out it can be a nightmare. Co-ordinated works would be helpful.
I'm not sure what the Sandy Lane works are for, I'm guessing SWW, but that is a guess because of the issues they've had up that road.
This morning during our so called rush hour i drove from Holcombe to Sandy Lane it took me 21 minutes to me thats not a nightmare its a little inconveniant but hey if you are in a hurry set of a little earlier and as all ready mentioned there are other ways round all the traffic lights.
Patience is a virtue a few sets of lights is not the end of the world why is everyone in such a hurry these days and the way folk are going on you would think we lived in central London.
The problem with avoiding Exeter Road is that all the side roads are narrow and/or steep. I tried to get back via Stockton Hill but everyone else seemed to have the same idea and it is not a good surface for grip when wet and muddy.
Think somebody informed them it was a bad idea whilst the roadworks were ongoing along Exeter Road, re school traffic and school buses it was dangerous and gridlocked this morning!!!!
And at long last and its been years we no longer have to avoid the holes as we turn left into Sandy Lane so there are now only one set of lights to negotiate so this thread should be dead in the water.
