They have never put useful infornation on and times of events ..as they want you to pay for the magazine in shops with printed details.  I am sure if everything was freely pre advertused for both local and visitors the day would benefit.  A good size poster in town showing a clear list and times of events ...but no, they dont like that either it seems.  My point has always been.. if the organisers ...

Remember 'Mary Queen of the High Street'.. and the chance of her coming to Dawlish to sort it out. Thought it was interesting last night on Channel 4, she tried to get Margate going...well from the outset they didnt want her help! ..but its a happy ending, If you didnst see it here it is, its a good prog. Wonder if the Strand was adapted in the 'same' way ...what would happen,.. ...

Thanks Fred and Stephen. I found this website ,,to calculate taxi fares may be handy for someone. Example. Dawlish-Exeter £26.80. Clock starts at £2.40. http://yourtaximeter.com/main/council/teignbridge-district

Taxi drivers have their own rules on the road ..and of course would not like an increased bus service.  Last time I got in a taxi the clock started at £1.80 what is it now?

The Strand

Walked down half the Strand ...no wonder you all are so annoyed. What a bloomin mess and I cant see how the town will benefit from it when its done at all.

Yes I knew it's American and that have adopted their 'polite' staff customer services in stores here. I have to say when I go to Sainsburys and get a voucher.. saying it 'would have been cheaper at Asda' ,,thats soooo annoying, to get a 50p voucher to go back and spend there and get another I guess! Think Tesco lost customers because they often have grumpy staff, I never shop there. ...

You have to smile. Two years ago people were saying Sainsburys will be the end of the town ..it was like the world was about to come to an end lol. Who would have thought two years on there would be posts saying its expensive. I think the town is better for a 'proper' supermarket and dont know why it should be a town without one.  I still like Asda best ..no points cards or gimmics and staff ...

Yes very.

If there were no visitors I am afraid you would probably only have the Coop... as you say people go to Aldi etc. The shops were losing money before the alterations started...retail is pointless in small towns...otherwise I am sure you would open a shop up.
