burnside, I never believed that council houses should have been sold off by Thatcher.  I believe Bob Crowe was making the point that there is nothing wrong with living in a rented council house, 70 per cent of European's rent. I dont think it matters how much a person earns, they have a right to live where they like. The trouble is that council houses are looked down on in todays ...

Okay allow me please to share some facts with you. Thatcher cut our income taxes in the 80's, and our National Insurance contributions.  This is when our privatisations began. Britain's enterprise culture demands low income tax. We pay lower income tax compared to Western industrialised Europe. Factually and political Britain is fast losing the role of the State, and ...

The not so recent demise of Union man Bob Crow is more than sad, it is shocking, because now the ordinary people of this country no longer have anybody speaking up for them, because the British Labour party is no longer the party that it was. I knew Bob Crow stood for re- nationalisation of the railways and utilities, and not privatisation, and he believed as I do, in universal non means ...

Hi, ive just come onto this forum, and I notice its very quiet except for a few people.   I wonder why this chap left the forum ?, after all we are all entitled to our view. Can somebody tell me please, why this chap left the forum ?

OLD FART referes to the Tory's as dim wits, this could not be further from the truth.  The Torty's have a simple agenda to roll back the state and take the country back to victorian exploitation in working conditions and pay. Judith Chalmers, What im copying and pasting are actually my own words already written and relevent to the subject matter.   P.S. What has your last sentence got to do with anything ive already written ? IE "The average British male kicks the bucket almost five years earlier" is a case in point.

OLD FART, An in-out referendum on Europe would be a tragedy because the British people are told nothing about the positives of Europe.  Only the negatives care of the Sun and the Mail

Judith Chalmers 26 Jan 2014 12:02 ""Did you actually read the whole article?  Did you understand it? There's minimal differential between what Balls and Osborne are both saying re. budgetary surplus. There's plenty of difference though in how that's going to be achieved - Osborne just wants to slash and burn public services to reduce the growing national debt, Balls wants the top earners ...

Here you are Lynne, If this right wing Tory Government wins the next general election, there are plans by George Osborne, to introduce a flat rate UK State pension of around £144 come 2016, that’s worth just under £7,500 a year, just over half the poverty line of around £14,000, though you will need to have worked up 35 years worth of National Insurance contributions to qualify rather than ...
