Smella gone, but not forgotten. By one person anyway!!

The Lawn

As time goes on more and more public front line services are being reduced in numbers. Whilst the top heavy management infrastructure seems to grow.  As can be seen from the 100's of new laws implemented each year to combat the rising tide of crime. You can have as many laws as you like, but without enforcement they are useless. How often do you see a police person walking around ...

It's amazing that such a scene should be allowed to take place, especially in a public place with children around. I would have called the police, lewd conduct, drunk in a public place, gross indecency, public order offence, etc, etc take your pic. Oh! I was forgetting the great expense Dawlish went to to have cctv installed. Although I hear it may not be monitored due to cost.

@Lindapetherick - i think you will find that this site is used on many occassions for the benefit of the dawlish community a case in point would be the development of the lawn. things may get a little heated at times, but that is what happens when people have a passion in their feelings and beliefs. i feel that you are not looking at the site in its entirety, but a few individual posts/comments. ...

@michaelclayson - and if everyone one was microchipped at birth it may reduce crime. an extreme analagy, but i think you will get my meaning. the forum is a place for people to say what they feel without persecution from others. i do agree with you that the forum's site terms should be enforced when someone continually breaks them.

Well I must be living in another Dawlish in Devon. Bushes growing out of the curbs, rubbish strewn all over the place, public paths looking like jungles. There my be budget cuts at the council, but I'm still paying £2k a year for not a lot. Also, not to forget all the great plans that the councils implement at great tax payer expensive that become white elephants and/or just a complete waste of ...

@Dorian , can you please explain how you came to the conclusion that 65% do not like the victorian bandstand idea? As several people have commented already on this question on the survey 'Which statement best reflects your opinion about the bandstand' Keep it clean and tidy, but don't change it - 20.34%  131. A victorian style feature - 35.71% 230. Replace it with the ...

At least they say what they feel instead of bottling it up. I certainly would not want all the town councillors agreeing on every subject.  It's a discussion site and as long as those who contribute stay civil I do not see that there is a problem. We are all human, I think, and we all get hot under the collar at times about things we believe in. I'm sure those responsible for the site would ...

If the fire was caused by a an electrical appliance supplied and fitted by the lease holder and Teignbridge have decided to clear the mess up. It is surely down to Teignbridge council to seek renumeration from the lease holder for the cost. My question for clarity of responsibility for payment of the clearup would be. Was the lease holder requested/ given the opportunity to clear the site ...

@Leaht1988 - it's nice to know there are still caring people, like yourselves, willing to help these two lost souls. hopefully they just became lost from their owners and will be reunited soon.
