I saw today W H Smith doing 75% off in Teignmouth, that does not look too good to me. You simply cant do that and pay staff and the rents etc. I admit I do buy books and Cds online. Thing is with books in shops, people handle and read them, then put them back on the shelf.
Do people prefer a chicken thats had freedom to walk around outside or one thats never seen daylight and been battery feed, that is what you get in supermarkets .. bargain hey?

I would never go in there. It could be such a nice place to eat with a prime position too but their 'tacky' chalk boards written so badly says it all for me. Isn't it awful when you have to almost apologise for being a customer, making work for them yet paying their wages.
I wish the Strand was car free .. like walking through Exeter and Newton Abbot is far nicer.
Yes Tesco owns One Stop and that is a possible idea and should keep people happy! How strange it is the big 'superdupa' stores everyone seems to love are in trouble, just maybe the small shops will have the last laugh with few or if any staff to pay.
