It is a shame if the place has upped its game.  You can't really blame the pub but sometimes punters need a (friendly) nudge from the bar staff to get them to change the subject.  Otherwise, like you, people will steer clear.

Strand Update

They're still working on it and I think it's generally shaping up well, although the plants do look like they could do with a good soaking. So now we have hanging baskets and planted banks - how come, when I read here that the money had run out?  Does that mean the wooden rails will be replaced too?

Not sure the parking is quite right yet.  Saw the Royal Mail van leaving its tyre marks parked up on the pavement because someone had parked in the loading bay.

I was no more than 12 feet from Diamondogz and still couldn't hear what they were saying so would be Interested to know why they chose to use their own over the event one.

@stephen15 t There's this too.  http://www.dawlish.com/thread/details/1644 Don't know what happened to Justin Rushworth.  Listing is the remit of the Dept of Culture, Media and Sport.  Perhaps a call to them would establish their  current position?  Happy to add support if needed. There was also this last year. http://dawlish.com/thread/details/22360 Yes, it's currently an ...

This was posted on here back in 2004.  Network Rail have been biding their time ever since. The battle to save an historic signal box from demolition has been won. A planning inspector has ruled that Network Rail cannot knock down the redundant box on Dawlish Station. The company claimed the listed structure needed major renovations at great cost, but railway enthusiasts argued it should be ...
