Yes indeed Deedoodle. That would be much more fitting than someone profiteering from it. I'm surprised that soldiers could keep looted spoils.
I find it distasteful and dare I say immoral for a lone individual to profiteer from the looted item and what it represents. It should have been handed back to Germany or donated to an appropriate charity or museum.
"we are going to deliver much more with less" Hmmm.......not likely.
The orders can be viewed online so they may just direct you here https://new.devon.gov.uk/roadsandtransport/parking/traffic-regulation-orders/
I've always thought it unfair for agents to charge prospective tenants in excess of £200 for a £2 credit reference and an employers reference that costs nothing but a postage stamp. I'm pleased that those who rent will no longer be exploited by excessive agent fees. It would also be good if the law was changed so that landlords also have to provide a financial reference to show that the property ...
Surely the cost of living always gets higher? The cost of dying too! If we produce 60% of our food then perhaps without EU regulation much of it will reduce in price to counter balance any increase in the 40% imported. I would certainly expect the price of cheese, fish, lamb & beef to reduce since we produce these in abundance and their prices have been kept high by EU regulation. We can only ...
I’m one of those undecided voters. I have little faith in the polls as the last election taught us that polls are unreliable. Most of my friends seem against remaining but most of my friends live in the South West where it is traditional to identify with GB rather than the EU. I think the SW will on the main vote out. The SW is a minority (an elderly one) though and the majorities like Scotland ...
My husband works on the roads and he tells me that the council notice posted above by Gary Taylor on 16th May is made under the wrong section of law and most likely unenforceable. Apparently special events require notices to be made under section 16A Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The council notice is made under section 14 which is for notices where road works are taking place or where there ...
Should'nt we (the public) want DCC to make a profit from parking enforcement rather than run it at a loss? Any loss would have to be subsidised meaning other more vital services (eg: Education and Care) have less funding. DCC can only make a profit if people are ignoring or failing to comply with parking rules. From what I've read, any profit is required by law to be spent on schemes to improve ...
I've been an observer of this site for 5 years but never posted until now. I don't know Lynne personally but what I do know is that she has put a lot of effort in over the years to keep locals up to date with what the powers that be have planned for this town, be it through the front or back door. I'm very grateful to Lynne for her efforts in keeping the uninformed, informed. Thank you Lynne. ...
