The major problem with the pedestrian 'crossing' points is that they don't actually signify anything. They're not Crossing Points in the normal sense (i.e. Zebra, Pelican, Puffin, Toucan or Pegasus) so they are ambiguous. As many people believe, they do not give priority to pedestrians but merely raise a driver's attention to the point by having red coloured tarmac. A Drop Kerb does not ...
Nice way to 'form an argument' Libby! ROFL.
No, there really can't be. And add to that Bill Millin's connection to the town. We wanted to get some streets named for them but were told we needed to contact living NOKs to get permission - unfortunately we don't have the resources to research that so nothing has been done.
£10K?.......I'm wondering why we're only spending £200 for a sound system for PITP! Will get back to you on that one Micheal.
The UK should bin the May Day Bank Hol and have one in the Autumn. How about a Remembrance/Armistice Bank Hol?
'Cy' Barton was definitley not known as 'Joey'! There is an account together with a replica VC at Barton Surgery (No, it wasn't named after him. Barton is an old name for a farm). He stayed with his Grand Parents in Dawlish as a kid (due to ill health) and went to Dawlish Boys School. Pennell was born in Barton Villas. After winning the VC he was killed in an accident on The Cresta Run. I ...
I don't see the issue. The article states: "Current rules mean a deduction is not made if the young person is claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance." Perhaps I've mis-read it.
I too will never vote BNP, but will vote UKIP (again) at the next election. The EU is failing (never having passed an audit!), The Euro is failing (because countries whose economies were deficient of the rules were allowed to join it) and because our Social Security system is being taken advantage of by people who have no intention of working and have never paid into it wanting to come to ...
£50/£25 fine received today for overstaying outside the Pet Shop. Thought the restriction didn't apply at weekends but c'est la vie - my fault. I have to say though that in a stretch which could accommodate about 8 cars there were only 2 parked (including mine!) so where is the sense in the restriction? It's really no wonder no one use the town centre. I've often wondered why there ...
Sorry for the delay in replying Michael - lost the post/plot for a while. I think this may be part of the problem (i.e. no one admits responsibility for it). It's a shame because lots of walkers use it and had a nightmare due to the amount of rain for the last year. I don't think it would take much to sort out. Perhaps JTT might do it as a community scheme due to the (at least) 2 big ...
