When is the wall that has fallen on the road by the Teignmouth Inn

going to be removed?Or is it to become a Dawlish Heritage Site

I understand that it is an insurance responsibility not a county council one but imagine the county council is liaising with the insurance company.

If you want anymore info than that then suggest you contact John Clatworthy our county councillor.

Perhaps local businesses should claim for the amount of time we are spending sat at the traffic lights waiting on a daily basis, bet they would soon clear it up then. As said on another thread why dont DCC clear it away and send them the bill.

Why not ask who's responsiblity the wall is and pressure them to get the repair carried out. DCC cannot continually pick up the bill for other peoples liability and if they move the rubbish then DCC become liable for the repair and perhaps that is what the owners want.

Three sets of traffic lights between the Dawlish and Teignmouth and the Wall is still

on the road.Lights at Holcombe and nobody doing anything not even a shovel.

But there is a telephone engineer who has created a single lane by working on

a junction box by the Cliffden.

I've been told, and by a very reliable source, that the wall (or what is left of it) is listed.

Which apparently means that getting the whole thing sorted out and cleared away will take some time.

Hence the wall is still on the road and hasn't been cleared away yet.

I am only telling all of you what was told to me (so please don't shoot this particular messenger).

Ta.

PS There is a joke there somewhere about a wall being so listed that it fell over.

@kenny

Thanks for that info. There is a consultation form you can fill in if you have any strong feelings about the traffic situation through Kenton. Think this is probably one for the residents, however, as they seem to have been experiencing problems due to the very narrow road without a pavement through the Southtown part of the village.

@Lynne

Have never heard of a wall being listed before. Does it have any architectural merit? Perhaps the National Trust should adopt it & show visitors round.

Tell me whats racist about the truth this country is far to soft on on letting anyone walk in and the news is full of such stories at the moment. I suppose you think the Americans, Austrailians etc are racist because of their strict border controls. On the other hand your maybe Polish and sending British earned money or benifits back to your country to fund the next influx.

I have to make the triip from Dawlish to Teignmouth three or four times a day and its just becoming a joke what the hell we pay road tax on our cars for i've no idea. The idiots have even blocked the back way now by digging up the Exeter Road junction in Teignmouth. Why when the tourist season is upon us do they start all this after doing nothing over the Winter.

As for the wall debris JTT have got enougth plant on site locally to remove the stuff even if its dumped in a neat pile on Barton car park for now.

The fact is that the authorities are more concerened with passing the book or maybe the cost of doing a stupid risk assessment stops things progressing.

Dave Mathews is a Teignmouth and Teignbridge councillor he is also the M.D. of Baileys civil engineering in Dawlish , come on Dave get a digger and waggon down there and clear it up.

I too will never vote BNP, but will vote UKIP (again) at the next election.

The EU is failing (never having passed an audit!), The Euro is failing (because countries whose economies were deficient of the rules were allowed to join it) and because our Social Security system is being taken advantage of by people who have no intention of working and have never paid into it wanting to come to this country (why wouldn't they?).

This is not a racist argument it is purely that our system cannot withstand it.
