Highways Officers at County Hall have measured the speed of traffic using Sandy Lane and suggested that at approximate speed of 28mph is not high enough to warrant traffic calming. I think the measuring of speed must have been done during the day when work on the new youth centre was in progress because it would have been impossible to drive much above that with all the lorries unloading and work ...
I think we have enough empty houses in Dawlish.Treston House was demolished to make room for a housing estate which came to a standstill. I think the building company went bust.
The Post Office in Starcross closed on Wednesday. The owners said "It was no longer a viable business". The building is up for sale. Starcross Parish council and residents of Starcross are working closely with county councillor Alan Connett to find an alternative as soon as possible. The options are Boots, a Spar, a Fish and Chip shop and two pubs. An alternative is for it to move to the Westbank ...
The council have bought 34, Park Road,(the old Salvation Army) at a price said to be £165,000 and submitted plans to demolish existing building and erect 6 flats. I understood the council wanted to sell the Manor House because there wasn't enough money for repairs and move their offices to the building at 34 Park Road,so why the decision the build flats and where would their offices be? £30,000 ...
Why was the fence erected in the first place, did someone think it a good idea? If the panels were only sold by standard lengths as suggested by J. Warrener why weren't they measured and cut to the size required to prevent over ordering. What happened to the lengths that were cut? maybe they were sold to help pay for the over budget that has already gone over the price originally quoted!!!!
A bid to scrap traffic calming measures demanded in the planning permission of the youth training centre in Sandy Lane has sparked concerns. The £2.5 million project is nearing completion. A condition imposed by councillors is that the building cannot be occupied until traffic calming has been put place on the road outside. Highways officers at County Hall have measured the speed of passing traffic ...
Unfortunately a lot of them are parents already. What chance have those poor kids got!
Good to see Dawlish Skip Hire back in business. Have they been taken over by someone else?
Public pressure has forced a delay in the sale of the Manor House, Dawlish. The Town Council has decided to postpone the sale of the historic building after pressure from the public. Over 100 people attended a meeting at St Gregory the Great Church and cheered when councillors expresses support for continued community use of the building.
What a shame J.Warrener! Where did you get your information from? If you had looked on the Events page of this website you would have noticed it didn't start until 7pm on the Friday.
