I saw a couple of old photos of Dawlish in the photos page. There's more at http://www.oldukphotos.com/devon_dawlish.htm
Thank you for posting the link to those old postcards - there are some truly wonderful images there. In fact I think I saw User4549 on one of them! I never realised that Fairfield House was a Guest House in years gone by. I'm not going to go all Daily Mail on you, but sometimes you do wish that you could turn back the clock to bygone ages. Thanks again for sharing the link.
Dawlishmans comment "In fact I think I saw User4549 on one of them" Those kind of comments usually come from short small minded - no disrepect meant to the real short people - people trying to act big and adult, for him its a shame it does not work, by the way have you finished with your dentures yet LOL
Mister Man, You may find it interesting to strike up a conversation with Roy(late of this forum). By my calculation, he is also 42. If not the answer to life, the universe etc., he certainly always had it. He will be 43 in the next few weeks. friv. Don
Glad to see that you guys enjoyed the photos. Found some more at http://www.francisfrith.com/dawlish/ There's also a 'share your memories' section, and a 'book and map' section on it too. Hope this is of some use to you
Thanks for these links. I have looked at www.francisfrith.com on several occasions. It has many local photographs and maps and offers them for sale. Don
Last link for now guys as I'll probably not be back online until sometime next week. Found this site with some old photos from Devon incuding Dawlish, Teignmouth Torquay and Paignton. Lots of other towns too. http://www.visitthepast.co.uk/gallery.html
