Dawlish beach has re-opened after it passes its latest water testing. The test results received on Saturday has given the beach the all clear. The source of the pollution remains a mystery.

A bewildered deer became separated from its herd and deceided to do a bit of shopping in Stokes fruit and veg shop in The Strand Dawlish. It was a shock for customers who first thought it was a dog, but quickly realized it was a bit too big and boisterous. A retired heating engineer from Dawlish died after eating a gel sachet used in urin bottles. The 88 year-old was admitted to Dawlish hospital from his home in Holman Close. He ingested the sachet while in Dawlish hospital. He was treated immediately and then transferred to Torbay hospital where he died the same day. A full inquest will be heard at a later date.

A man from Exeter has been banned from Dawlish as part of his bail conditions. Thomas Harding from Exeter pleaded guilty to assaulting two men occasioning them both actual bodily harm. The violent attack happened at the South Devon Inn, Strand Hill, Dawlish, last July. Harding is already awaiting sentencing for causing £20.000 of damage at the Flying Horse Pub in Wonford, Exeter.
