@Brazilnut - probably because they are not in the middle off stream that recently flooded. huw - couldn't agree more, christmas is not about flashy tripe it's more than that.

Brazilnut - I agree very interesting, to form a balanced opinion it helps to hear the other side ....

I can't say that it is entirely surprising considering the amount of hostility directed at him. Whether it was deserved is another issue completely Interesting times ahead for the carnival committee with chair and vice-chair leaving

It looks a mess with half of it up and the other half hanging down dragging on wet pavements. I understood that it was the Carnival Committee that put it up surely they should take it down. Half a job done, and it does matter because yet again Dawlish looks shabby and uncared for.

Sandwiches !

But, Nelson, nothing in the report suggests that it is just Tories that are causing the problems in Cullompton (nor otherwise) and as the two councillors that have resigned are independent then it's not obvious what their political leanings are. It may be old/new guard falling out or it may be a touch of in-fighting which is what has been happening in Dawlish causing the deputy mayor to resign. ...

UGLY DUCKLINGS!

Frederick - I think you'll find that the Warden is the one that makes the decisions on the housing of cygnets and their parents in the pen. As the swans have a monetary value surely by ensuring their survival he is doing what he is paid to do? The mallards aren't owned by the town council so they take their chances (most of the time) with the gulls - nasty to see a duckling being ripped apart ...
