Yes Brazilnut, you are quite right, comparing a high street which has major stores like Waterstones, W H Smith and various clothing stores with Dawlish is nonsense, there are no stores to attract anyone. If you take away parking in the Strand it will be deserted. Also agree parking is badly organised and must be more restriced to allow better access for buses amd large vehicles to get through.
Thanks for that, someone today told me the bus stop is already in the carpark at Sainsburys and there is a notice there apologising for the delay but stating the service will begin in October, not sure if the date is mentioned. I will have a look next time I shop there, probably tomorrow or Sat.
Thanks Brazilnut, exactly my point, we need more housing everywhere in the UK and South Devon is no exception.
Housing requirements, easy, ask the council, I know people who have been on the waiting list for over a year and still waiting. About time we stopped talking and got building.

Was told today that Sainsbury's are to start a shopping bus service on 10th October, can anyone confirm this?.
Instead of VAT on slot machines the new idea is to impose a new tax every amusement machine, basically it's a tax on turnover, then the companies still have to pay their normal tax. What makes this even more unfair is it extremely difficult to increase costs for amusement machines due to the money being 'collected' by the coin mechanism. So the owners can't just add a few pennies to cover tax as ...
Anyone comparing Emerald Décor with Morris and Mcginn clearly hasn't been in Emerald and has no idea what they sell.
I buy a lot of presents and cards there, whatever time I go in, opening time or late in the day have always found everyone there to be friendly and helpful. Having dealt with clients/customers for many years I find the attitude of the customer is often reflected by the staff in any business, enough said!!
Shame on you Sainsburys, you've only been open 2 weeks and already destroyed the Dawlish Carnival, just trying to work out how your opening in August prevented people from making Floats this year. Am sure all Dawlish residents will be happy to see you close down soon due to lack of support then we will have a decent Carnival again next year. The power wielded by supermarkets is truly awesome!!
