A children’s charity is looking for volunteers to help run a charity walk. The NSPCC Devon Hike Against Cruelty to Kids (HACK) takes place on September 11, and will see walkers covering 25 miles along the South West Coastal Path from Dawlish. At least 20 wraps of suspected heroin were seized by police in Dawlish following a morning raid on a town centre flat. Exeter Road's Marina Post Office was ram-raided this morning. Earlier, a local passer by snapped these photos. Apparantly a Vauxhall Astra was used in the raid although this has not been confirmed.

Devon Partnership NHS Trust has received planning consent to proceed with the £30m redevelopment of Langdon Hospital in Dawlish. Tesco has lost its bid to build a store in Dawlish. Government inspector Stuart Nixon today ruled out proposals for a Tesco out-of-town store, bringing to an end three years of store wars wrangling against its rival Sainsbury's.
