What do people think of just one Council for all of Devon? .. tis all over local news but nothing on here. I see Gordon Brown has sacked a Minister within an hour of her saying 'there should be a leader election'. he can move fast on some things it seems!

Devon General was Government owned in the 1970s NBC 'The National Bus Company' until de- regulation in 1984. The Government sold it all to Harry Blundred for a song, he got the mini buses into Exeter and worked well, he sold it to Stagecoach early 1990s. Blimy you don't 'envy' the disabled really do you? By train with a 'Devon Card' that any age can have to Exeter is £2 return, £1.65 to Newton, I challenge anyone to do that journey cheaper by car.. it's still cheaper by public transport than buying and running a car, is a 'status' thing I do realise that. Anyone else experience problems trying to get a Doctors appointment? On Friday they said don't ring for Monday as that is reserved! Tuesday .. I phoned at 9.30 'oh too late fully booked' Today Wednesday .. phoned at 8.40 'too late fully booked and 3 Doctors are on holiday' I said 'I give up and will call in the Exeter NHS drop in'.

It's a shame SWT will nolonger go beyond Exeter. The point re the 1735. Yes it is used well as runs just in front of FGW. I have used this from Salisbury 1548 many times to Dawlish, but most get off before Exeter, agree its them busy but mainly Exeter passengers. So you saying a house at £150,000 should be marketed at £75,000? .. but how do you buy a house in a different area where prices are not dropping in price as they are in Devon and holding at around £200,000. Should wages be cut be half too?
