The trouble is in 2009..nobody think of others. Go on a train or bus you get mobile phones ringing and loud voices, 'thump thump' music from cars, the smell of BBQs slightest sign of summer. Take a look at the teenagers outside Ferret and Radiator, before you see the next generation that will bring children into this world. 24/7 everything. It can't get better unless someone dares or cares to set ...
You have not said what you want either. Back to Council bashing. Barclays and HSBC left Dawlish, that has to say something about business prospects here. I see Woolworth still vacant. Put Sainsburys on the green ..that would make it a busy town centre with pretty river walks and wake things up! lol
I can only think it is because locals would not use it, you cannot survive on just the summer trade. The Brewery was smart, now thats gone noisy and people hanging around outside, its taken the Lansdown route, all locals want is 'football football football', how 'braindead' is that, what Dawlish has matches the people here.
Tattoo shops seem to attract rather unsavoury charactors who seem unable to express themselves without using the F word.. how sad is that. Shame there is demand for it in Dawlish but that says it all I suppose.
Agree, law should go back to last orders at 11pm, 24/7 shops with beer has cauused problems of all sorts nationwide. I notice nobody has had little to say 'for or against' the pub in question... so I assume its acceptable for Dawlish.
Couple of weeks ago I saw an Ambulance outside at 10pm, yobs stood around watching and stil drinking of course fag in other hand. Do these kids have parents that care? seems not. These are the next generation oh heck. I have always said you can judge a town by it's pubs, there is nowhere nice to go in Dawlish. I vote yes too!
First ..nice to see a sensible posting, these days on here are few and far between! I was away Friday evening, afraid it's not my thing and was all over when I got back. The Talent Show was a good idea, the mini fair I guess was ok for when no activity on the lawn. Think Carnivals in general are getting a tad tired.
I thought 'Dawlish Got Talent' was put together well.. my goodness the 6-8 yr olds were good and showing no nerves!
I'm thinking they should advertise on lots of A4 sheets around town of 'what's on' and times..rather than make you pay 2.50 for the booklet. Maybe its me being mean!.. but i'm sure they would gain more from not keeping everything a secret!
Thank you!
