What ever happened! There were some really good entries spoilt by the order they were placed in. 20 mins late starting, so many long gaps people started to leave thinking it had finished. I heard a shop keeper today telling someone people had been saying the carnival was rubbish. It's a shame it could have been a really good carnival if it had been organised better. Having it on a different day to the Air show should have given the organisers more time to get it together. Maybe it had something to do with the loss of two very valuable committee members!!

First ..nice to see a sensible posting, these days on here are few and far between! I was away Friday evening, afraid it's not my thing and was all over when I got back. The Talent Show was a good idea, the mini fair I guess was ok for when no activity on the lawn. Think Carnivals in general are getting a tad tired.

From what I saw, it certainly did have somthing to do with those two committee members! I was there most of the week, and they both seemed to had done nothing all week! So think that was unfair on all those hard workers. Knowing who they are, they most probably walked at the last minute, instead of seeing the end through... not valuable at all. Just wrong! hope somone joins the committee in place that will actually do somthing, and not keep leaving the lawn! Other than that well done to all, was one of the best Carnival Weeks I have seen in sometime, credit to all those volunteers! Well done.

I didn't know anything about two people walking out, I was referring to the sad deaths of Brian Heath and John Hayday. It must have made things very difficult for the rest of the committee and dedicated helpers who do a marvelous job.

as from a parents point of veiw i feel the carnival its self was good far better than teignmouth, but what spoilt it was the teenagers who were underage and very drunk after the carnival we our selfs had to step in and stop about 20 youngsters who were under age how do i know this because most were in my own lads year at school and he not 18 till next year, they were a disgrace to dawlish i called the police who did turn up one police officer was wandering up the road after myself telling her what was going on and maybe a run was in order to get to it her reply was why whats the point it only kids drunk this really wound me up why were the police or carnival committee out and about taking the booze of them from early on in the day,but from all that i like to thank the committee for there hard work and maybe the moaners of dawlish should get of there backsides and volunter there time do people not realise the committee is not apid and most take a weeks hoilday to do it
