As for the proposed railings down the Strand, any fool knows that metal rusts and has to be repainted at regular intervals. Ever heard of the Forth Rail Bridge or seen the state of the footbridge at the railway station? That is the result of salt water/air on metal. ...

Further to what Stephen15 above says, there is a Point 2 Point course close by near Mamhead. Season is closed now but the first meeting is generally the last Sunday in November. Great fun.

Hi Andy. Like anywhere, it has it's ups and downs, rights and wrongs, but on the whole, it's a lovely place to live. Jobs (full time) though are a problem but Exeter is only a short distance away where a lot of people work. IMO, road and rail links are good and public transport ok also. Its all very well about going on about free parking, but as for the Strand, once all the shop/estate agent workes, day trippers etc have parked their cars in the parking bays, where do the shoppers park? Maybe you ommited to say Free Parking for 30 minutes only which will make a lot more sense.

Hi Sharon. Welcome to Dawlish. Have a wander round the Bowls green tomorrow as there will be a fun tournament (inter pub/club)  on from 1030  and a BBQ from 12 noon. A chance to see some of the locals at play and enjoying themselves.
