Meeting being held Tuesday 28th September (that's tomorrow as I type this). 7.00pm. The Manor House, Old Town, Dawlish. Presentation and discussion about how we may have to adjust to a world (but Dawlish in particular) with ever decreasing supplies of oil. All welcome (including cynics.)
So...it wasn't just your child's new school that stopped it. DCC was also involved. Thank you for letting us know.
Sorry to hear of the experiences of your child and very pleased s/he is happier now. And yes I know there can be very tragic outcomes because of bullying. Can you explain something please. You write: "we had a few instances of my child's tormentors waiting at the train station .....it was my child's new school that stamped that one right out". Good. But can you share with us how they did it?. As ...
I wouldn't disagree with much of what you've written there Hells Bells. I would be interested to know though what others think of the Gazette's reporting on this whole thing so far. Could it be described as Objective? Considered? Restrained? Hectoring? Sensationalist? Balanced? Slanted? That list isn't exhaustive but I would be interested to know what others think.
I have just sent the letter below to the Dawlish Gazette but as I'm not sure whether or not it will get published I'm posting it here as well. I think we would all agree that it is regrettable that anyone, anywhere, should be the victim of bullying. I think we might also all agree that more than likely bullying is still to be found in most, if not all, schools across the land and I’m as sure as ...
I understand the Rotary Club ceased running it for this season wef last Sunday. However, I was told by one of the rotary people that someone else will be organising it instead of the Rotary. So I guess it will be running this Sunday and until the end of the month unless of course the weather turns for the worse. Hope that helps.
@ZIGGY , not exeter council but devon county council. the county council is responsible (at the moment) for education and youth services. teignbridge district council owns the land. i guess it might help clarify things if someone somewhere could say who will be using it. i understand the students from the community college most cetainly will but who else i don't know.
I think you'll find that the building to which you are referring got morphed, via a new planning application, from being a youth/community centre to being a facility for vocational learning for young people. Whether or not the wider community will be able to use the facilities remains to be seen.
From what I can gather Sainsbury's and Teignbridge District Council are still negotiating the finer details of the planning consent given to Sainsbury's back in March. So......presumably until the negotiations are finalised and the planning decision notice is issued, Sainsbury's aren't able to start their build.
Have just been taking a look at the online planning documents re the supermarket saga and it seems that Tesco are Appealing against the decision made by TDC in March of this year when they (Tesco) were refused planning permission to build at Lady's Mile Holiday Park. The Appeal is scheduled to be heard over 4 days at Forde House, Newton Abbot wef Tuesday 12th October 2010.
