General Discussion

No he's right. We are the only people posting on here apart from the odd flurry from bored teenagers now and again. There must be something in the Dawlish air which stifles debate - or even life. Have you noticed that all the letters in the Dawlish Post are from people in Teignmouth? Thats cos no one in Dawlish writes letters to the paper either. No doubt someone will say its sad to post on here ...

I don't think everyone agrees improvements can be made. Most people respond to criticism by saying 'if you don't like it go away.' You should welcome constructive criticism.

Alex You should not be put off by postings such as that from Daisy. It is a perfect example of the extraordinary attitude that keeps Dawlish from moving forward. I don't know why it is that one cannot make suggestions about how Dawlish can be improved without people taking it as some sort of personal criticism. Its very strange. Anyway Daisy you are stuck with the likes of me for a while yet and ...

My guess is that they don't know as people seem not to complain about anything in Dawlish (except about the young people); I think re bums on seats that they have a loyal fan base of elderly customers who have been going there for years. In Dorlish? You kidding?

I agree - I am hanging around with my digital camera in the hope of catching him in the act. I will contact the Town Clerk too - maybe if enough people do they will start to take notice. I think the Dawlish Post could run a story on it too esp in the light of the number of posters on here defending the practice.

I found the exact same thing a year ago! Its a myth that Dawlish is mainly old people; yet they run the place as if it was. Then they are surprised that there is a vandalism problem. But there is a huge 'Dawlish mustn't change' attitude and not just among the old people - business interests too I think.

I could not agree more. Dawlish' problem is that it is geared almost entirely to the day tripper market, esp from Dawlish Warren. It needs to target a different type of customer - yes, hotel investment would be a great start.
