Don't know when the outcome of the Tesco Appeal will be known but do know that the Appeal Hearing is scheduled to start on Tuesday 17th May. Due to run over three days I believe.
Yes, you are correct about some Lib Dems (2? 3?) on TDC either voting against or abstaining on the vote re whether or not Sainsbury's should build at Shutterton Bridge. Believe they may have done the same re the Tesco application to build at Lady's Mile as well. I think Cllr Connett abstained because he thought the amount of money on offer via the Seciton 106 agreement (£200,000) was not enough ...
I'm not sticking up for the councillors and their support for Dawlish having a new supermarket. I am making a statement of fact. (that they argued in favour of Dawlish having one). And another statement of fact is that I am not one of them, nor am I related to any of them nor am I related to any of those standing for election for the first time. In fact I am rather looking forward to ...
Back? I wasn't aware that I'd gone away. Seemed to me that it wasn't the new supermarket chain that was being accused of being a newcomer and trying to change things. Which is why I asked for examples. I'm still waiting. You make an accusation about the town council. Please do substantiate that accusation. (Not speculation, I mean proof ) And as for me putting a political twist on every ...
Just out of curiosity please can you give some examples of newcomers wanting to immediately change what they came here for. And on the question of Dawlish needing a new supermarket - I believe that was urged along by the town council wasn't it? Is/was the town council made up of newcomers?
PS What questions did you ask?
I take it then that you're not a candidate in the local elections?
You are 'reading' an implication where none was intended. Like I've said above, I was trying to figure out what you were getting at, which I didn't twig to first of all. Whilst we are on implications - any chance you could expand on your implication when you write "but your reply says more about you than any apology ever could".

I'm not being doom and gloom. Fact of life. Age of Austerity. And money has always been tight for me also - like many others. Some are about to discover what that is like and I think it will come as a bit of a shock to put it mildly. Lovely day. I shall now go out and enjoy it. Lovely part of the country. See, not all doom and gloom.
