A few weeks back, DADS (Dawlish Against Developing Sandy Lane), canvassed all those standing in Dawlish as candidates for the local town and district councils plus the two leaders of the main parties at TDC (Alan Connett and Jeremy Christophers) asking them what their thoughts were on the future of the playing fields. but.....the Tories are now in overall control. Dawlish Central & North East Ward (3 seats) returned Ted Hockin and Graham Price. Geoff Wills was not elected (came 5th I think). "if they didn't use AV David Cameron wouldn't be their leader" (see Vanguard's post). P'raps that's why they (the tories) are so against AV now? Who would have won the Tory leadership contest if it had been run under the First Past The Post system? David Davies? Please can a Conservative supporter/member explain why it is perfectly okay to elect the tory leader using an exhaustive ballot ...
