and I'll put my hand up, as a pedestrian, to crossing roads when the coast is clear even if the red man is telling me not to. Then of course, there are pedestrians who walk on cycle paths. Oh yes, and the car owners who park their cars right across the flow of the cycle/footpath up by the Marine Garage so that both cyclists and pedestrians have to divert out onto the main road. Wish there were more cycle paths. And as you seem aware of the green and environmental reasons as to why they should exist there's no need for me to repeat them, is there?

Thanks for that Only Me. Yes, there is another ship there now as well which I don't remember seeing yesterday. Seems to me it turned up over night (although may be not). Thought when I first looked out the window this morning that my eyesight was playing up! I can see both of them on the south east horizon as I type this.

Anyone know anything about what looks like a large cargo ship that's been on the south-east horizon for at least, I'd say, the last week if not longer. You can't see it from sea level - you need to be up higher like the upstairs of a house that has seaviews in a south-east direction or from places like the top of Sandy Lane Playing Fields and Lea Mount. Is it a tanker?

If you look on previous threads you'll find that Fronteraman was most vehemently complaining about Sainsbury's. I agree with you in that not for one moment do I believe the supermarkets care about the negative effects they will have on holiday makers using tents and caravans. Anymore than they care about the negative effect they will have on those who have the bad luck to live in permanent ...

and let's not forget the effect of the refridgerated lorries and additional traffic on the people who will be staying in tents and caravans at Lady's Mile. Since when have tents and caravans been known for their noise insulation qualities?
