Pity that the weather is not looking at all good for tomorrow, so will probably give it a miss. :-(

Thanks for the info. I'll be there with Mrs Mac. :-). The weather is so changeable that I wouldn't put people off by posting such negative comments. Good luck to the hard working guys and girls at Duck Aller Farm - hopefully their day will be a success. Having helped organise such events in the past, I know the effort and stress involved - so it's disappointing to read someone on here unwittingly(?) putting others off.

@Andy Mac

Why did I put others off by my so called NEGATIVE comment? Did I tell others NOT to go? NO

That was MY OWN OPINION.

Anyone with half a braincell could look out the window yesterday and see that the weather was foul and make there own mind up whether to go or not..

And for YOUR information, my wife and myself are disabled, so therefore we cannot get out in wet weather.

It seems that you just like slagging anyone off for the slightest thing.

I hate to sound like im having a go at you Carer but ,your comments may have put people off as they had a negative tone. Maybe you would have been better off posting nothing.

Or you could have put , it may rain tomorrow but who cares as its in a barn.from the look of Mr macs posts he only seams to have a go at people who continously run our town down with negative moaning posts, which im afraid this forum , has many that do that.

As for your comment about being disabled, if you'd put that in your reason for not going due to rain, it may have made it clearer to everyone.

As i say , many of us are very proud of Dawlish and are sick of its continous slagging off.

For the life of me, cant anyone post their OWN opinion without all this abuse?

I did NOT tell anyone else to go, but stated that we will PROBABLY not go due to the weather.

Note the word PROBABLY......

Have I slagged Dawlish off. NO.

Why should I broadcast the fact we are disabled to get some understanding?

I am a HUMAN BEING. Disabled people ARE humans with opinions.

What is it with you people??

Might I make a plea as well?

Any chance we could have debates/exchanges of opinion on this forum without the, almost inevitable, deterioration into name calling and such like.

Please.

I appreciate that the written word can't relay spoken nuances and that this in turn can lead to misunderstandings, it's happened to me and has happened to others. But any chance we could try to be nice to each other?

Someone I know read some of the columns on this forum for the first time the other day. He asked me why I continue to post. He was not impressed. At all.

I sympathise with you carer, you posted nothing detrimental, and Lynne I know that sometimes misunderstandings occur and agree with both of you. Andy Mac and J. Warrener come over as very smug but Im sure they are not!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Carer, I obviously misinterpreted what you meant, so I unreservedly apologise. I guess my brain has been tuned into thinking that everyone on here is filled with negativity and that you were putting people off with your innocent comment. As Cilla says, I may come across as being smug on here, but in the real world I'm not - well at least I hope not lol! I merely get riled at those that talk Dawlish down on here - as I've personally explained to Cilla before. So please excuse me if I shoot from the hip when I perceive slights against our town - a town that I'm very proud to have become a recent part of.
