Interesting about the leisure centre I understood the staff were employed by a private company, this must be incorrect, can someone clarify please. It would be a brave move for any school to go on strike nowadays, does anyone know of a school that didn't open ?
Margraet, Something can be done with Lloyds, all you need to do is agree to pay £15,000 a year rent £9,000 a year business rates and sign a 10 year agreement then you could make it look nice again.
Isn't the NHS priority health ? Shoud they spend money on hospitals or car parks ? I would sooner have a bed for my relative than a parking space

Rates council tax in my opinion is far to low in order to maintain the services we have in the UK, I for one have suggested a significant increase in both council tax & busineaa rates and yes I do pay both. I for one would be more than wiling to pay an exta 25% Though i also feel income tax should be higher

As someone said on another thread if the police are to object to music events on the lawn then surely a bandstand is a waste of money, so lets see what the outcome is ?
As a family we were there, there was a little trouble down the bottom end which the police controlled the event wasn't disrupted at all, what a shame. Maybe it was the DBS or the DDS or the TDS gangs that are on this forum pouting their chests that have ruined a great event.
Would a call to the Landsdownes liceincing authority help ? I guess they could shut the place down as I beleive it was shut before for drugs & violence
