Thursday, November 1 The bright "star" above the Moon this evening is Jupiter. Although they look close together, Jupiter is 1,500 times farther away. Aldebaran, to their right, is 930,000 times more distant than Jupiter!
Wasn't able to go myself as had a prior engagement that took me out of Dawlish for the whole of last Sunday so not able to make any comment based on personal experience, but I see from this week's Gazette that the event has a good write up and that someone even took time out to write a letter to the paper saying how much they had enjoyed it.
I don't know if it has yet been decided how the money will be spent. I guess though that Cllr Rosalind Prowse or David Force would be two people who might be involved with deciding how it gets used. So you could try contacting them for more info.
I think TDC will be getting it.
