I very rarely say anything bad about Dawlish, as I love it here. But I'm not blind and it has gone downhill, including the Carnival. It is still good, but nothing like it was years ago. Olive's point is that Dawlish cannot afford more people, regardless of where they come from. School places are limited and so are jobs and housing. She is not being racist, just practical. What's the saying? Can't fit a quart into a pint pot? Dawlish needs to change and expand to welcome newcomers. It's been noted on other posts that Dawlish is becoming stagnant. Hate to say this, but this is really a moot point. Immigrants are already here and working hard. A local old folks' home is staffed by over 80% Polish or Bulgarian. They're here, they work hard and they put back into Dawlish through care work. And you haven't even noticed. So what is your problem? Have to laugh at the post about keeping British traditions. Shall we go and invade Scotland again ...

i'd like a morrisons or aldi. Something really dirt cheap.:)

This thread is defunct now as the letters are with the owner. The reason I didn't drop them back into the post box is because my young son opened it, it was personal and there was no return address.
