General Discussion

Would it not be prudent for all involved in public consultation regarding the development of the lawn to provide written proof by way of land deeds or other documentation as to who actually owns the land. All we hear is that the three levels of local government are doing this that and the other, when in reality its likely that none of them own the land. The area now known as the lawn was if ...

I  thought the police were paid to do a job, like making a couple of arrests if things get a bit out of hand. Seems they now have the power to dictate what peole can do in their own town and more to the point on a area of land actually owned by the people of Dawlish. The real police issue here is if these so called teenagers were under eighteen. Where did they get the booze from and why is ...

@Andysport Why are you surprised? 15 years ago the huge blue chip company with head offices in Switzerland that I worked for at the time issued a memo to all HR personel asking them not to actively persue employing new staff over the age of 40. If you dont think thats normal and your in the late 40s 50s bracket try appling for skilled trade or management jobs with major companies and see ...

Would be interesting if the councillor responsible had the balls to post a copy of it on here was it you Michael ? If not then as council leader perhaps you would be kind enough to point out that if any member of your council wish to make comments about the posters on here then we can all be contacted directly by the message facility. Come on lets hear what you have to say

The comments below the article make better reading than the article itself which is nothing short of **** sorry but words fail me.

After the groundbreaking statement during the winter floods when the organisation representing at least twenty of the UKs leading charities stated that they would not be helping with the flood relief efforts as the people of Somerset where generally wealthy and able to sort out their own problems. A member of my team has now uncovered another scam tatic being used by at least one  charity and ...

Carnival 2014

Well Mrs C you finally seem to be getting the idea. How on earth is a plastic play park and a new bandstand plus a carnival without a queen float going to improve the commercial and financial future of the current town centre. Why can you not see that the problem lies with the run down, tired, unfit for purpose buildings most of which are in individual private ownership and suffer from a lack of ...

Mrs C once again cant read properly or understand whats being said. Dawlish as a town is a great place to live my comments refere to the general area around the lawn. Not the entire Town as a whole. I actually attended both nights of the Muse concert in Teignmouth and enjoyed every minute, but look how it disrupted the towns normal activities can you imagine the thought of such an event on ...

Its not just about the Fair. Its about the town centre and more to the point the lawn. The site is totally unsuitable for any mass public event and I have been suggesting for many years now that the Carnival, Fun Fair, Airshow and other Parties and live shows should be held on the Warren. The town is no place for fun and entertainment, its a miserable, outdated, run down museum full of dingey ...

@MrsC Really. I do think the town council should organise and administer the carnival, would save all the bickering and open up its activities to the "freedom of information act". As for your comment re the fair it wouldnt in the least worry me if it was shunted off the lawn I personally dont think it a suitable place to have a fair anyway, but it is traditionally a part of the carnival and ...
