When ever i walk past the Heat Cabinet is full, sausages, fish, pies etc so the food is hardly freshly cooked. I know its not possible to cook to order sometimes but the shop is never that busy(Winter) to warrant cooking so much at a time. Is the food thats not sold thrown out when the shop closes or is it re heated (Yuck). Also hygiene is a worry, know one wears a hat a basic requirement in the fast ...
Dawlish resident's Posts on Dawlish Discussion
Dawlish is very quiet most of the time. There is a proportion of beer swilling chavs but if you steer clear of the town pubs you won;t see them. Its a largish town and there are lots of groups lurking if you can seek them out. Don't let the posts put you off - in fact there are more 'upmarket' people retiring here so you should be in good company.
You forgot one on the skankiest place list. The Newlands Estate.
Dawlish has it's problems just like everywhere else. This is a relatively low crime town, not crime free - no where is. I have lived both here and at Newton Abbot and I would recommend Dawlish over Newton any day. Despite some of the idiotic stuff you might read here, there is a genuine community spirit here, the schools are good, the faciilities whithin the town are improving and the area that ...

Sometimes gossip is another name for concern. This poor lady would not have laid dead for four weeks if more people kept an eye out for their neighbours. (the family aren't local)
Hope you have a great time. Good places to eat are Smugglers inn at Holcombe - great carvery with local meats and other dishes and the old mill tearoom for cream teas with home made scones. If you want to visit local attractions I recommend the museum, very cheap and great displays. The lawn area with the ducks and swans are always popular and the beach is nice, if you've got children it is worth ...

So what if anyone does know anything about "the stabbing" its a police matter and should not be for the small minded town gossipers that feed on rumours to fill their little empty lives!
Why do the residents of dawlish make such an issue of the carnival. personally dressing up like a fool and cram packing the pubs seems utterly small minded. I can see why the carnival may be a positive thing for children but my concerns are with why fully grown adults go to the pub to numb thereselves with alcohol rather than doing something much more constructive!
