Love the Smugglers - good atmosphere as well as great carveries.
Old Mill Tearoom for cream teas and fab home made cakes, not to mention the amazing hot chocolate!

Baileys!!!!!!!

When Dawlish Delights was Chicoland a complaint was made to environmental health regarding the rats and rubbish out the back - goodness only knows what it was like in the kitchen!!!

Baileys is mega bad, Riverside sandwich shop is to expensive. What young people need is good food at a fair price.

I would rather suck sh*t out of a dead camels arse than eat from Baileys! The food is pure sh*te! Par fried chips are disgusting - but they dont care what they serve - tourists will usually eat anything and they are not going to be back again so why bother? Dont know of many locals who eat there. Now Strand Hill is back to normal again - it is by far the best chippy in Dawlish - trust me - im a fat b*stard who loves food - so i know!

Totally agree! Friends of mine have tried the new cafe at the top of town run by Baileys and have said it is on par with the chip shop. The chip shop is foul, worst chips i have EVER tasted and its filthy inside, how on earth they pass the food hygiene licence i'll never know. Last lot of chips i got from there ended up being thrown to the seagulls and even they refused, make of that what you will.
The little deli on the strand near to Boots is lovely, not the cheapest, but if you want to get nice quality food then that is the place to eat. Young couple who run it are delightfull.

Went to Baileys once (big mistake) watched Mr B batter fish then go to serve ice cream without washing hands then take money then go back to the fish - was like he was trying to see how many basic food hygiene rules he could break in two minutes!!

lansdowne fine if you have an hour or two or three to spare, being the only customers for a simple meal and having a half hour wait dread to think how long to wait if it is busy maybe a booking the week before would be reccommended
