After a delicious pumpkin soup at the Dawlish Feast event last weekend, I thought an article and a few recipes on pumpkin was overdue

If you have never tried pumpkin before, I do hope you will try these recipes and enjoy. They are a delicious 'vegetable' and with my tips very easy to prepare and pointers on how to store them, and get the best out of them

update - went out looking for pumpkins and could only find butternut squash on offer, so its in baking ready for some soup for dinner. Anyone have any other varieties growing? Particularly, spaghetti squash?

Never tried pumpkin before, didn't really know what to do with it I suppose.

The soup with cheddar cheese looks a good place to start.

@Philip - lol, good point. i keep forgetting about the ki ora OJ over here ! 

For others not in the know ...... Kia Ora, is an NZ Maori term. It is used in a similar way as in the UK we use the word cheers. Kia Ora can mean; hello, goodbye, good luck etc. it is also used when in agreement with something someone has said

And yes, you really must give pumpkin a go, Philip, especially if you have a sweet tooth :-) As for the speed, 99% of recipes I put up are in my database, so I only have to cut & paste for the most part. What takes the longest is always the intro article!
