@Flo . I dont live here but i havn`t got kids-never married. Worked for 22 years at civil service. we down here have school buses for the colleges and school children. I dont know if Dawlish has them. Anyway I respect other peoples view ,wherever they live, be it south/north england.

@Flo . I respect other people`s view, but i think that if you have to get from A-B, catch a earlier bus/coach. People obviously knew that there is no trains from Exeter St.Davids -  NA. Announcement later In year, Public Consultation ends April 2015. Month before General Election.

Flo. Coach/Replacement Bus Service from Exeter St.Davids or Tiverton to Newton Abbot. Train from NA to Plymouth. Some Inconvience yes but its not Dawlish fault there was 2 storms. I did say largely unaffected. Spotlight has details.

@Flo . On Spotlight they said that the alternatives are poor value for money. On the West Country News Programme they said it will be put out to public consultation, until next april, unless i heard wrong. Can someone tell me, unless i am missing something, what Plymouth has to do with this, as when Dawlish was not having any trains, Plymouth was getting Trains, Buses, Coaches so their public ...

@Clive . NR are going to raise the Dawlish Seawall where the footpath goes lower. This is subject to planning permission. Still some people moaning that people will look into there houses. If granted, work could start next month.

At least they have decieded to take the proper option.  They will have to raise it though, first rough seas we have it will come over and onto railway line. Somebody said a while ago, if I`m not mistaken,  to make it absolulety safe it will have to be raised 15 feet. They will  have to make it stronger as well. Still i`m not a local, only a outsider looking In.

The Red Rock Cafe has re-opened again after the storms and Network Rail forgot to tell the owners that the walkway was open again. So they lost money In passing trade. NR have said sorry for any lack of communication and are looking at their claim for compensation. Spotlight to-night will have the story, do not know time as football is in extra time(again).

@Paul . if used next day delivery then it would of been a bit more expensive but it would have had to get to destination by 1pm the next day. If It got there later you would be entitled to your postage back. Track an trace would be a great help then. Hope this helps.

@Lynne . had to download application because it would not let me view it. a list of files has appeared which i will read later.

@Key Green and mcjrpc. dont worry, look at date on posts these are from 6-7 years ago. i quite often go up to dawlish warren railway station on friday night/ saturday morning  and i`ve had no problems.
