@Mcjrpc I'm sure that all the people who volunteer their time and their services freely for this event, will be so pleased to read your sarcastic remark regarding the stage. Have you done anything to assist the day and help out to make the day better for everyone?

@Clive . Yes, making them rebuild (and pay) would be a very good punishment for the scum, but what will happen if that did go ahead? Their 'Human Rights' will be violated because they have been subjected to public humiliation. Sorry, but the PC/human rights brigade have ruined this country.

Oh dear. Mrs C will object to this thread as it is very negative for Dawlish, as in her eyes, only nice things happen here.

To help protect the sea wall at Dawlish, and other vulnerable stretches of the main railway line, then why not do what they have done at Sidmouth (even though they have no railway) and put 2 'artificial islands' just off the beach, which helps break up the waves and protect the sea wall and properties on the esplanade. We had the opportunity to do this some years ago when the sea defences were ...

How about an official opening to celebrate the official opening?
