Dawlish Carnival Committee and I have organised a meeting for potential helpers, organisers and volunteers at next year's Dawlish Carnival. This will take place at the BRUNSWICK Arms on Thursday 20th November at 7.00pm. See This weeks Dawlish Gazette for full details. If you would like to join the guest list, please message me on Facebook or email me at david@forceandsons.com. The meeting will be ...
I understand it was actually Dave Farley's son who flowered him, or is that just hearsay?
Mcjrpc. There is a huge groundswell of support for the Carnival which has been such a successful event over the years. Sadly, the committee don't seem willing to accept the help they are offered. I'm not sure why, but the committee does seem to have taken against me. Unfortunately, their decision to reroute the procession and pram race so that it avoids the Brunswick Arms (run by my son, Dan) will ...
I think it should be remembered that this is a work in progress. It is therefore vital to wait until the work is complete before dismissing it as a waste of money. It is very interesting to read the comments here. The problems faced by the traders are deep-seated and shared by so many towns around the Country. I do agree that a number of the shops must take a long hard look at themselves and go that extra mile to attract shoppers and make them feel welcome. If you speak to Ben at the Brunswick Arms, he will be able to suggest a DJ for you as well. Good luck....and have a brilliant party!
The Brunswick Arms will let you have their room at the back. They can provide food or you can bring your own. Phone 862181 and ask for Ben.
And do support the town centre shops...not Sainsbury's. They need your custom more than a supermarket!!!
The Redrock Centre is in Sandy Lane near the Leisure Centre. There is usually a manager on duty who could give you info about setting up demos or classes. Good luck.
Force and Sons were worthy winners methinks! There might be something in the Gazette tomorrow.
