pleased to say I am not associated with the 'FFS' planet lol You clearly do not use One Stop (Tesco) ..the Post Office on Monday had a queue of 15 with 2 counter staff at 12 noon ..so how come they were there and why was the path along the Strand so busy?
As long as Dawlish has the sea there is no problem as people will visit, it is those that keep the town in business and lways have.. Note the number of traders from one end of the Strand to the other that have no need to worry about Sainsburys: Travel Agent, Estate Agents, Optician, Shoe Shop, Bookies, Gift shops, Restaurants, Stokes veg (all agree veg is cheaper in veg shops than supermarkets). ...
Who put the rubbish there in the first place? ..'people' not the Council lol. Some of the posts dont exactly sell Dawlish to anyone wanting to visit ..no wonder they go elesewhere...then we get winging they have!
Best to avoid train travel on the day if you can ..unless you travel when the main events are taking place. Dawlish station is very busy between 6 and 7pm ..comings and goings..
I stopped going there 10 years ago! ..customers seemed to be a nuisance then, nothing changes..anyway the chips were never that well cooked...
I'm probably alone on this.. but I think in this internet age we should be able to see the event times planned on the web ..I'm sure people away from Dawlish would want to know the info and I cant see them buying a prog in advance as they suggest. Think the committee should drop the old 'buy the prog' idea and have hand out free leaflets and display posters all over the town giving people the info ...
This may be handy info > http://www.devon.gov.uk/parking_on_pavements?nocache=7948 Seen cars parked on the pavement blocking the path all day and nightst!
I hope Sainsburys do well, its a tall order in a town that thrives on doom and gloom, virtually every town in the country survives with a big supermarket, I really dont see why Dawlish should not have one and you know what ...it is not the end of the world!
To put 'ffs' ..just about says it all. Put the words in full so people understand you more! For the record I dont go in the pub, I do not have a problem with the music being a success and not bothered whatever they do, to me it's just good its not another 'braindead' football pub. People vote with their feet, do accept many in Dawlish just hate change and anything new.
Carer .. I dont see anything nice about your comment>>>>>>>>>>> A good excuse NOT to go on a Sunday night. Ok, Mr Steffens is a talented chap, but once you have heard his set, thats it. Same old tired songs. He plays for himself and not the audience.
