It's been open for a fortnight! Great to see so many happy people (locals and visitors) around the town today, enjoying the April sunshine. Local businesses will have done well these last two weeks I'd wager.
Pleased to see that the preparatory work has commenced ahead of the desilting that's going to happen upstream from Dawlish. We've already seen the benefit of the initial phase, so hopefully this next phase (and subsequent phases in the town sections) will nail this on the head. Well said Roberta. The only slight hold up today in Dawlish was of course for the works on Exeter Road. It always amazes me why people have so little patience - when they move to Devon they should realise that life is a little slower - and is all the better for it.
Maps are only useful to those that have the ability to read.

Last years maps were available in most shops and cafés in town. It was definitely also available in the TIC and a copy was on display in the wall mounted frame outside of it. I'm sure the same will also apply this year, in due course.
Chippy Chaps is the best around here bar none. Never had to wait long there myself - but I don't mind having to do so at any chip shop, as it means the chips and/or fish is fresh.
