Network Rail is investigating a problem with a section of the new £80million Dawlish sea wall , less than three months after the structure was unveiled. The idea is to save downtime due to bad weather, and work has continued during the recent poor conditions.

On the other hand how much would it cost if they did not use the Wavewalker, and how long would it take.

Network Rail have shared pictures of the severe weather that resulted in waves crashing over the Dawlish railway wall – saying it shows why the new sea wall is so vital. sounds like a job for the £34k a year climate change officer at teignbridge  council....

I was wondering what had happened with this planning application. Now I know. It's gone to Appeal. Documents related to this Appeal are available here.
