************Update************ Weather is looking good for the Dawlish Parade which starts at 2:45pm in Park Road by the Central Hall/Siew May/Lansdowne, then along to the Swan and up to the St. Gregorys War Memorial.
Let's show our support by lining the route tomorrow (9th Nov) afternoon and cheering/applauding those who take part. Fly the flag. Wear your Poppy with pride. I will, and I do.
A lot of them congregate on the Exe estuary around the Cockwood (especially on the golf course at high tide) and Starcross area and up at Bowling Green Marsh in Topsham. You will also find lots of them at the far end of the Warren. Cant say I have seen them in the Teign estuary though.
How sad and what a shock. Had he been ill? RIP Wally.
What a great picture of the members of Dawlish Royal British Legion standing to attention behind their standard under the Menin Gate in Ypres, Belgium , and what a great honour for you all to be able to do that. Well done lads, and lasses.. Once again, you have done Dawlish proud. Thank you.
@Dorian . I am not 100% sure, but when the general public's safety is at stake, does it matter where these incidents happen?
@Dorian That's all very well but how many time have we heard the phrase "We have learned some lessons from this", with regards to issues in these sort of establishments, when someone has escaped and have killed someone who is just going about their daily business. How many times has that phrase been heard on the news? Far too many.
@ Fred. re, Human Rights Quite right Fred. It's a shame that the PC brigade and do gooders of this country don't give a thought about the human rights of their victims.
@Clive By looking at the reports, it was the Canadian 'Lanc' and will have to have a replacement engine. Good luck to the crew when they return home.
@roberta Exactly the same with Party in the Park. More chance of getting blood out of a stone.
